What is a Small Group?
A Small Group is a home fellowship made up of around 8-16 people who meet weekly to share, study, and support one another. A trained leader and host lead each group. An average meeting lasts for an hour and a half. Small Groups generally do not meet June through August.
Why is being a member of a Small Group important?
Here at First Family Church, we believe spiritual growth flows out of two basic commitments: a commitment to God and the Bible, and a commitment to significant Christian relationships. Small Groups are the hub of our ministry. They’re the place where the real ministry of the church takes place as we study God’s Word while supporting and sharing our lives with one another. We believe that meeting together on a regular basis is time well spent.
What will we study?
Most of the studies are based on the previous weekend’s message. Small Groups are built on what we call a “Lecture-Lab” model. Imagine the weekend message as a lecture on Christian living based on the Word of God, and the Small Group as a lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and discuss how the weekend’s message works in real life. Each week there will be a series of Bible passages and questions on the back of the sermon note sheet to study before the meeting.
What about childcare?
We leave it up to each Small Group to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or to swap childcare with another family whose Small Group meets on a different evening. Often times there is a space available in the home for children to play.
Want to join a small group?
We would love to welcome you into a Small Group. We currently have small groups meeting on Sunday at 5pm and Thursday at 6:15pm. Please contact one of our staff members if you are interested in joining.
As the next generation of leaders and worshippers in the church, we want to assist parents and family members by providing a biblical education, a caring and positive environment, and an example of service to our children in order to point their lives to Christ. We encourage the teachers to build relationships with the children and get to know them and their families. If you have any questions about our kids ministry, please contact one of our staff.
It is our hope and prayer that as we teach and point children to Jesus Christ, we help them to be lifelong followers of Him through celebration, growth, and service so they in turn will teach others.
We also want to encourage friendships among the children in our church. It is important for us to laugh and play together. Our children have opportunities on Sunday morning to get to know each other better. We also plan activities throughout the year that give kids and families opportunities to build relationships.
NURSERY
Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers. We have a caring staff who will take care of your little ones while you worship.
CHILDREN
Class meets during the church service after a brief time of worship with the adults. They will be dismissed after worship and welcome. At that time, they will meet their teacher and go to their classroom for a time of kid’s worship.
Each class includes a Bible lesson, activities, and verse memorization. We designed this time to be fun and educational while centered around God’s Word. We aim to make the Bible practical, applicable, and relevant to kids.
VOLUNTEERING AND SERVING
In order to help the ministry to our children flourish and succeed, we rely on parents, youth, and other church members to regularly assist in the children’s ministry. By serving in our ministry, you will be serving the Lord, impacting the lives of our families, investing in the future, and being a great example to the children and other adults at First Family Church Bondurant.
FFCB Youth is the student ministry of First Family Church Bondurant. FFCB Youth is for students in 5-12th grade. Our desire is that students would hear the gospel and respond in faith, grow in their understanding of the gospel and live in obedience to it, and be confident in the life giving truth of the gospel so they can share it with others. We do this in many ways. We spend time together playing games and doing activities in order to build relationships. We participate in large group teaching settings as we hear from the Word of God, and we have small group discussion in order to better understand how to apply what we have been taught. We also periodically engage in activities to reach out to our local community and engage in outreach to other parts of the world. We would love for your children, and even you as parents, to get involved in our youth ministry. Please contact one of our staff members for more information.

It is our desire to equip the men of our church to live godly lives by applying biblical principles modeled by our Lord, Jesus Christ. We want it to look a lot like what is described in 1 Corinthians 16:13–14. We want men who love Jesus, love their families, and hold their ground to defend their faith.
