As the next generation of leaders and worshippers in the church, we want to assist parents and family members by providing a biblical education, a caring and positive environment, and an example of service to our children in order to point their lives to Christ. We encourage the teachers to build relationships with the children in their classes and get to know them and their families. If you have any questions about our kids ministry, please contact one of our staff.

It is our hope and prayer that as we teach and point children to Jesus Christ, we help them to be lifelong followers of Him through celebration, growth, and service so they in turn will teach others.

We also want to encourage friendships among the children in our church. It is important for us to laugh and play together. Our younger children have opportunities to play together on a weekly basis in their classrooms. Our elementary age children also have opportunities on Sunday morning to get to know each other better. We also plan activities throughout the year that give kids and families opportunities to build relationships.

NURSERY

Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers. We have a caring staff who will take care of your little ones while you worship.

CHILDREN

Classes meet during the church service after a brief time of worship with the adults. They will be dismissed after worship and welcome. At that time, they will meet their teachers and go to their classroom for a time of kid’s worship.

Each class includes a Bible lesson, activities, and verse memorization. We designed this time to be fun and educational while centered around God’s Word. We aim to make the Bible practical, applicable, and relevant to kids. We use The Gospel Project curriculum that speaks to kids and centers on the Gospel.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

We believe that security and safety are paramount for having a successful children’s ministry. We do regular background checks on all church staff, elders, deacons, and all volunteers who work with minors. Prior to volunteering in any of our rooms, our helpers will undergo a background check and visit with one of our children’s ministry staff.

In addition to this, we carefully observe allergy policies.

Finally, we have a state-of-the-art check-in system that ensures that only approved parents or guardians can pick up children after services. You can rest assured that your children will be safe as they learn more about God and develop their faith.

FAMILY SERVICE

On the first Sunday of the odd months of the year (January, March, May, July, September, November), we have a family service. All elementary children attend the entire service with their family. This allows families to talk about the importance of communion together. We encourage children, when the parents feel they are ready, to participate in communion with the church body. We also believe a family service allows kids and parents to have great discussions about salvation, spiritual growth, and their relationship with God during and after church services. A children’s handout is provided for them to follow along and take notes during the service.

VOLUNTEERING AND SERVING

In order to help the ministry to our children flourish and succeed, we rely on parents, youth, and other church members to regularly assist in the children’s ministry. By serving in our ministry, you will be serving the Lord, impacting the lives of our families, investing in the future, and being a great example to the children and other adults at First Family Church.
